Founded in California in 2007 by the Farmani Group, the International Design Awards recognise and promote design visionaries and emerging talent across architecture, interior, product, graphic and fashion design. Every juror brings at least fifteen years of professional experience and holds a leadership or founding role in their own organisation. Entries are reviewed anonymously and scored on a 1-10 scale against criteria that keep pace with new creative, technical and ecological demands. Recent Designers of the Year include Aedas in architecture, De Amicis Architetti in interior design and Xiamen King Long in product design. The 19th annual gala was held in February 2026 at ICONSIAM in Bangkok. Curiel has served on the international jury continuously from the 2021 edition through 2025.
