Italian Design Alliance Is Born

Bari, Italy — 4 September 2026

The Italian Design Alliance is born: an Italian-rooted non-profit association created to elevate Italian design culture across disciplines and global markets. It recognises and celebrates professional excellence among design practitioners, while assuring clients and end-users of the professionalism, ethical standards and quality that define made by Italy. The Alliance builds two-way connections: linking Italian-origin design experts with enterprises around the world, supporting businesses as they expand internationally with Italian-led design standards, and raising the global profile of Italian design culture.

Bringing together practitioners and organisations spanning architecture, interior design, urban planning, graphics, fashion and related creative disciplines, the Alliance builds a structured, streamlined platform to foster tangible cross-party collaboration between its members and external stakeholders.

Core Mandate: Two-Way Professional Enterprise Collaboration

Its primary function is matching design professionals with companies, institutions and stakeholders across the globe. For designers and design-focused member-organisations, it generates concrete project leads, international market exposure and new partnership opportunities. For enterprises, it opens access to qualified design expertise and supports cross-border expansion grounded in Italian-design quality criteria.

Key activities include showcasing member profiles and project portfolios, circulating business-relevant news, research outcomes and professional experience, developing joint-venture initiatives, and backing member participation in exhibitions, conferences, congresses and industry publications. The Alliance actively encourages interdisciplinary exchange across all design sectors. Cultural initiatives such as exhibitions, workshops, seminars and round-tables function as practical enablers for professional-and-business connections, not as disconnected standalone goals. The association pursues broad media visibility to amplify the reach of its institutional work and of its members’ work.

International Orientation & Institutional Relations

The Alliance builds and nurtures relationships between its members and local- as well as international institutions, sector organisations, trade-fair bodies and associations. It facilitates professional-and-educational ties between Italian universities and schools of architecture and design and their international counterparts, supporting knowledge-sharing, joint initiatives and professional-exchange programmes. International professionals, companies and entities that have distinguished themselves by promoting Italian-design-culture abroad are welcome to engage with the Alliance’s activities. The organisation is conceived as culturally Italian in its foundations, yet open-minded and globally-oriented in its professional scope.

Professional Standards, Ethics and Verified Excellence

Central to the Alliance’s statutory purpose is defining, promoting and disseminating a shared professional-ethics framework for its members. The association upholds principles of professional competence, integrity and transparency tied to the values of Italian design. Any project or professional profile promoted through Alliance channels is linked to verified professional-excellence criteria. Recognition may be granted to outstanding contributions consistent with the association’s statutory aims. Through this work the Alliance strengthens confidence among clients, partners, institutions and end-users in the quality of work presented under its auspices.

Organisation & Founding Members

Operated as a non-profit body under Italian law, the Italian Design Alliance directs all its resources toward fulfilling its core mission. Its activities are realised via member-driven work, partnerships, public-private joint initiatives, publications, educational programmes and cultural events consistent with its founding mission.

Founding members: Danilo Trevisan, Federico Curiel, Dario Trevisan, Davide Castoro.

Outlook

The Alliance aims to grow into a trusted global reference hub connecting design talent and enterprises. It intends to foster cross-border business collaboration and to support corporate international-market development built upon Italian-design-quality principles. Its long-term vision is to nurture an active international network, in which professional opportunities, cultural-design initiatives, knowledge-sharing and cross-border cooperation reinforce one-another. By placing its members’ professional-design activities at the heart of its mission, the Alliance supports both the individual professionals within its network and the wider Italian-design-culture they represent.
